Why a private tracker beats a spreadsheet
Spreadsheets rot. The price column you pasted last Tuesday is a lie by Wednesday, and copy-pasting quotes is exactly the chore that makes people stop tracking. This page keeps the spreadsheet’s privacy — your holdings never leave the device — while automating the only part that needs automating: valuation. Live quotes arrive on load, weights and P&L recompute, done.
Two habits get the most out of it. Record your average cost when you add a position; unrealized P&L against real cost basis is the number that keeps decisions honest. And glance at the weight column monthly — positions drift, and a coin that tripled quietly becomes half your risk. When it is time to rebalance, the profit calculator prices the exit including fees.

Where is my portfolio data stored?
Entirely in your own browser (localStorage). Nothing is uploaded, so there is no account to create, no email to confirm and no server to hack. The flip side: clearing site data or switching devices starts you fresh — use the export button to back up as JSON.
Are the prices live?
Yes. Each time the page loads (or you hit refresh in the tracker), quotes for every coin you hold are pulled from aggregated exchange data — the same feed behind our price pages. Portfolio value, allocation and 24-hour P&L recompute automatically.
Can it track my exchange account automatically?
Not this tool — by design it never asks for API keys, which is the safest default for a tracker you found five minutes ago. Enter your positions once; edits take seconds. Balances you actively trade are best watched on your exchange, e.g. CEX.IO.
What does the P&L column need to work?
Add your average buy price per coin (optional). With it, the tracker shows unrealized profit or loss per position and for the whole portfolio. Without it, you still get live value and allocation — cost basis just stays blank until you fill it in.
