Reading the table like a trader
Price alone says almost nothing about a coin's size. Rankings sort by market capitalization — circulating supply times price — because that is the number that has to move for your position to grow. Volume matters just as much: a coin whose daily turnover is a tiny fraction of its cap can post spectacular percentage moves on very little real money, then reverse just as fast.
A useful habit is comparing the 24-hour column against Bitcoin dominance and the Fear & Greed Index. Broad green days with falling dominance usually mean risk appetite is rotating into altcoins; red days with rising dominance mean money is hiding in BTC. Context turns a wall of numbers into a market read.

What does market capitalization actually measure?
Market cap multiplies the circulating supply by the current price. It approximates the total value of all coins in circulation, which is why rankings use it instead of the raw price — a $0.10 token with a trillion-coin supply can outweigh a $1,000 coin with a tiny float.
Why can rankings differ between crypto data sites?
Sites disagree on what counts as circulating supply — locked team allocations, bridge balances and foundation treasuries are treated differently. Small methodology differences reorder coins in the middle of the table even when everyone agrees on price.
